Ulquiorra Cifer is a prominent antagonist in the anime series Bleach. He is introduced in the Hueco Mundo arc, solidifying his role as the fourth Espada, the most powerful Arrancar in Sōsuke Aizen's army.

Ulquiorra is characterized by his melancholic demeanor and nihilistic outlook. He constantly questions the concept of the heart, believing that what he cannot see, he cannot believe exists. His appearance is equally striking, with pale skin, green eyes, and tear-like markings running down his face. He possesses exceptional speed, strength, and swordsmanship skills.

As an Espada, Ulquiorra possesses a Zanpakuto (soul-cutting sword) named Murciélago. Upon release, it dramatically transforms his appearance and grants him immense power. Uniquely, he has a second release form, Segunda Etapa, which is unknown to most, even within the Espada. This form makes him one of Aizen's most formidable weapons.
